Salt Lake City, Utah — Governor Gary Johnson, Libertarian nominee for President, has
released a letter from his physician outlining the results of a physical examination conducted two weeks ago.
Dr. Lyle B. Amer, M.D. of Santa Fe, NM, concluded, “He is an extremely physically fit and healthy 63-year-old male. Obviously, his decades of dedication to physical fitness, diet, no drinking, and no smoking have paid dividends as far as his current extraordinarily good health at this time of his life.”
Governor Johnson has competed in 17 marathons, 4 Ironman Triathlons, has climbed the 7 Summits — the highest peaks on each of the 7 continents, numerous mountain and road bike races, as well as endurance ski races. Writing recently about Johnson’s fitness, Men’s Health posed the question: “Is Gary Johnson the Fittest Presidential Candidate Of All Time?”
Governor Johnson also is one of millions of Americans who has Celiac Disease, a genetic autoimmune disorder where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine. It is estimated to affect 1 in 100 people worldwide. Two and one-half million Americans are undiagnosed and are at risk for long-term health complications.
