Florida voters almost out of time to register to vote or change their voter registration

Boynton Beach, Fla — July 27, 2016 — Florida residents have until Monday, August 1, 2016, to get their paperwork in if they wish to participate in the primaries set for August 30, 2016. Even those who do not belong to a political party (NPA) will be able to vote in the primary due to one or more issues to be voted on. Additionally, the Libertarian Party of Florida is having its first primary for two U.S. Senate candidates so Floridians interested in voting in that primary will need to register or change their registration to the Libertarian Party before August 1, 2016. All Florida voters will vote for or against Amendment 4, the “solar amendment.” Many Floridians are confused about the two upcoming solar amendments to the Florida Constitution, one being voted on in the primary and another in the general election on November 8, 2016. The amendments are confusing and many environmentalists are actually against the amendment being voted on in the general election. Environmentalists are supportive of the one Libertarians have been backing which will be voted on in the primary.

In addition to Amendment 4, most Florida voters will have other things to vote on with respect to several local issues and also judges in their area, special districts, county commissioners and other non-partisan races. Then you have the actual primaries of political party affiliated candidates. For example, the Libertarian Party of Florida has two candidates, Augustus Invictus and Paul Stanton who are running to be Florida’s next U.S. Senator. The winner in that race will face the Republican and Democratic party primary winners in the November 8, 2016, general election. Here in Palm Beach County, by clicking on this link you can see what is going to be voted on in the county.
