On Thursday, July 23, 2016, billionaire Mark Cuban went on a Twitter diatribe against Republican Party presidential nominee Donald Trump. This, after appearing on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last night where he trashed Trump. He said to Stephen Colbert, “”At the beginning, he was a businessperson. I wanted to see a change from the traditional politician, but then he went and opened his mouth.” It was only a couple months ago Cuban was praising Trump, but not now.
Here are some of Cuban’s Twitter gems he posted on Thursday:
I’m convinced the
@realDonaldTrump dream scenario is to win the popular vote but lose the election. All the glory. None of the work
Donald is the Ted Cruz of business His biz partners are no where to be found Which partner has supported him ?
So, Cuban is now definitively in the #NeverTrump camp, who does he vote on November 8, 2016 in the general election? If not Trump, is it Hillary Clinton? Is it a vote for Gary Johnson? Does he stay home?
We know Cuban is focused on business and is interested in free trade. So both Trump and Clinton have to be knocked off his checklist right there as they are both opposite that from a policy standpoint. Fortune recently did an interview with Johnson where Johnson distinguishes himself from the other two presidential candidates who are expected to be on the ballot in all 50 states. Cuban also has respect for Trump’s success in business and Johnson has that as well by building a one man handyman business into a large business with over 1,000 employees.
Cuban also wants to see someone with political experience. Clinton has that and so does Johnson as he was a two-term Governor of New Mexico. Cuban also wants to hear specifics regarding the economy and jobs. Johnson has been the most specific of the three presidential candidates.
When going through the several interviews Cuban has given over the last several months regarding the presidential election, it would seem Gary Johnson would be an easy pick. They seem to agree on more issues than Clinton or Trump, so we’ll see if Cuban will come out and endorse Johnson in the near future. We’ll keep you updated.
